Duke Ellington once declared her great grandfather Paul Whiteman the “King of Jazz” for innovating big band jazz music. Two generations later, soulful indie/folk artist Angela Elia is carving out her own room in the endless mansion of contemporary music with her pointed lyrics, captivating melodies, and powerful, angelic voice.
Her debut single, “Be Okay” is her first official release as a solo artist. This catchy, piano-driven track marks her entry into the music world with an admission to the universal uncertainty, fear, and, ultimately, hope in life.
